Reading challenges for 2015 (Feb 2015 - Feb 2016)

These challenges don't start until Feb 1 so I decided to give them their own page. 


Ethereal Reading Challenge 2015




This challenge is for books that steps beyond the black and white of life, any mystical subject. (~ Spiritual, mystical, paranormal:  non-fiction, fictional, religious~ Serious studies:  dreams, near-death experiences, miracles, astrologyNovels with clergy:  Sister Carol Anne O’Marie, Caroline Roe, Margaret Frazer~ Books with animals talking / doing more than what society credits themFantasy is certainly otherworldly, as well as witches and fairies.) It is being hosted by Carolyn at Riedel Fascination.  It has the following levels:
Intuition:   1-5 books
Third Eye: 11-20 books
Healing:    21 - 30 books
The Soul:  31+ books

I will be doing the Intuition level.

Gentle Spectrums 

Reading Challenge 2015



There are actually two different challenges here.  The first one is Gentle Colors and encompasses colors and words that represent colors : Colourful, colour, bright, light, iridescent, iridescence, dark, shade, hue, spectrum, rainbow, prism.




The second challenge is Gentle Subjects.  You should read one book for each of these 10 subjects. 

~ (1)  STONES  ~ 
Variations of the word, gems, jewellery, ruins, geological formations.
(“The Hidden Mountain”)

~  (2)  CHEERFUL  ~
Uplifting, positive messages;  conveys pleasant thoughts, images.
(“The Five People You Meet In Heaven”)  Worthy by Catherine Ryan Hyde

~  (3)  NATIONS  ~
Cultures, locations:  lakes, towns, even well-known places;  fictional included.
(“Made In Canada”) The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

~  (4)  PLANTS  ~
Trees, flowers, lawns, fields, grasses, grains, and gardening paraphernalia.
(“Night Gardening”)

~  (5)  WATER  ~
Water bodies, proper names, closely-connected components:  taps, sinks, pools.
(“The Lake Of Dead Languages”) Undertow by Michael Buckley

~  (6)  SPACE  ~
The sky, its contents, spatial matter, concepts, tools.  Star Trek / Star Wars-related.
(“Clouds Of Witness”) Raging Star by Moira Young

~  (7)  DAUNTING  ~
Any title that has you thinking:  “Oooo!  That does not sound good”!
(“If Two Are Dead”) Uncaged by John Sanford

~  (8)  STRUCTURES  ~
A building, its rooms, proper names, any of a structure’s parts.
(“The Palace Guard”) Stealing Home by Sherryl Woods

~  (9)  TIME  ~
Any signifiers of time, like seasons.  Any unit-measurers, like watches and calendars.
(“Night Travellers”) The Time of the Fireflies by Kimberley Little

~  (10)  HUMOROUS  ~
Odd, or anything that gives you a grin.  I’ll accept a ‘pun laid on too thick’ grimace too!
(“The Dragon And The Dry Goods Princess”).

It's exciting to find someone new at my door; in 2/3 of my groups no less. Welcome! I appreciate the solo post because Blogger & captchas are tough to comment on without a boatload of content. Eeek! I'm also small, looking to grow and more folks will see this. :) Just snip out the bit about "Hot Listens" please. That was a copy & paste error at "A Novel Challenge". My blog and ideas are my own. :)
